Celebrate Piano! A Comprehensive Piano Method, Books 1A, 1B, 2A, and 2B, by Cathy Albergo, J. Mitzi Kolar, and Mark Mrozinski. This method covers four levels of study, each with units for performing, listening, describing, writing, and creating music integrated into the lessons. The books build on each concept and emphasize intervals, land-marks, and multiple keys.
The Lesson and Musicianship books include sections on repertoire, technique, reading, theory, rhythm, ear skills, and creativity; and the repertoire in the solo books is composed to illustrate each concept and prepare students to play the classics. There are MIDI disks, CD.s, and flash cards, and a teacher's guide suggests ways to use these in lessons. This well-organized method will help beginners to make consistent progress.
