This collection of 7 Christmas songs and carols is designed to supplement the Celebrate Piano Method Level 1. All repertoire in this book will reinforce the elements as presented in the Lesson and Musicianship books. Words for all songs are included. The first selection, Santa Claus is Comin'to Town, allows a student with no experience to play a bell-like accompaniment on black keys over a full teacher played arrangement. This immediate "I can play" response leads the student into 2- staff reading whereby an illustration indicates hand placement and the starting note, line or space, is indicated at the beginning of each staff. In all remaining 6 songs, the student plays a melody alternating between hands with a teacher secondo of chordal accompaniment. The pieces chosen are a nice variety of songs with which the children will be familiar.
